Designed by local artist Russ Wilson, his goal was to capture the Jacksonville jazz culture. The neon sign in the piece is loosely based on the Ritz Theatre marquee and the travel stickers on the guitar case represent local jazz venues from Jacksonville’s early days such as Globe, Strand, Roosevelt, and Manuel’s Tap Room. Wilson’s overall feel is one of a warm summer night enveloping a vibrant downtown and sparkling riverfront.
